How to Make Berry Smoothie

1

Harvest Mixed Berries

You need 3x Mixed Berries. Berry Bushes grow wild in the Summer fields south of town — look for the bright-red bushes along the fence lines and meadow edges. Each bush yields 1–2 Mixed Berries and takes 3 in-game days to regrow. During Summer you can typically gather 6–8 berries per day across the field. Outside Summer, the Produce Merchant near the docks sells Mixed Berries for 15g each.

Tip: Plant Berry Bushes in your Farm's Orchard Plot (unlocks at Farm Level 2) to have a reliable indoor supply. Planted bushes yield on a 3-day cycle regardless of season.
2

Collect Milk

You need 1x Milk. The easiest source is your Cow — she produces 1 Milk daily as long as you interact with her each morning (a heart icon appears when she is ready). If you have not unlocked the Dairy Station yet, the Dairy NPC at the morning market sells Milk for 20g per unit. Milk has no freshness mechanic, so it is safe to stockpile ahead of time.

Tip: Owning a Golden Cow (unlocked via the Ranch Upgrade quest in Year 2) produces 2 Milk per day instead of 1. This doubles your Berry Smoothie production capacity at zero extra cost.
3

Add Honey

You need 1x Honey. Purchase it from the Beekeeper NPC near the town well for 15g, or harvest from your own Beehive every 2 in-game days. Honey has no freshness decay and stores indefinitely. It also works as a standalone Liked gift for most NPCs, so keeping a surplus in storage is always useful beyond smoothie production.

Tip: Building two Beehives costs 400g total but makes you Honey self-sufficient. Combined with the Cow for Milk, your Berry Smoothie ingredient cost drops to just the berries.
4

Open the Blender

Go to your Kitchen and interact with the Blender appliance (located on the countertop next to the Cooking Station — look for the cylindrical machine icon). Select "Recipes" → "Drinks" tab. Berry Smoothie appears once unlocked. Add 3x Mixed Berries, 1x Milk, and 1x Honey to the ingredient slots. The Blender does not have a stir mechanic — just confirm and blend.

Tip: The Community Cookhouse does not have a Blender — the Blender is Kitchen-exclusive. You must unlock your home Kitchen (Home Level 1 upgrade) to access it. The Kitchen upgrade costs 500g from the Carpenter NPC.
5

Blend for 5 Minutes and Collect

Berry Smoothie takes only 5 real-time minutes to blend — the fastest cooking time of any recipe in the Savory and Drinks categories. A purple swirl animation plays in the Blender display. When blending is complete, a short chime sounds and the Berry Smoothie appears in your inventory. Check the star rating — quality is influenced by berry freshness and your Cooking Level (Drinks specialty applies).

Tip: Same-day harvested Mixed Berries add a +1 quality bonus. Queue up a blending session right after your morning field gathering for the best star ratings without any extra effort.

Best Uses for Berry Smoothie

Stamina Buff Before Long Sessions

Consuming a Berry Smoothie grants +30 Stamina and lasts 2 in-game hours — one of the best stamina-to-cost ratios for any consumable in the game. Use one before a Mining run, long Farming day, or Dungeon clear. Stacking a Berry Smoothie with Grilled Fish (+50 HP) covers both your HP and Stamina bars before any challenging session.

Gifting Luna and Rosa

Berry Smoothie is a "Loved" gift for Luna (the summer adventurer) and Rosa (the flower girl). Gifting either of them a Star 3+ Smoothie gives +50 affection. During the Summer Festival both NPCs give double affection (+100) for Berry Smoothie. Luna's friendship track unlocks access to the Hidden Beach fishing spot at Friendship Level 6.

Summer Festival Drink Stall

The Summer Festival hosts a Drink Stall competition where players submit drinks for visitor votes. Berry Smoothie is one of the top-rated entries — a Star 4 submission wins the "Best Drink" ribbon and 300g prize. The stall also lets you sell smoothies at a 25% premium above normal sell prices during festival hours.

Quick-Sale for Early-Game Gold

With only a 5-minute blend time and cheap ingredients, Berry Smoothie is the fastest recipe to mass-produce for gold in Year 1. Even at Star 1 (95g), the ingredient cost is roughly 50g (berries gathered free + 20g Milk + 15g Honey = 35g), yielding ~60g profit per smoothie. Blending 5 in a row takes 25 minutes and generates ~300g — ideal for early-game cash flow.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I unlock the Blender recipe for Berry Smoothie?
The Berry Smoothie recipe unlocks in two ways: (1) Reach Cooking Level 2 — the recipe scroll arrives in your mailbox automatically. (2) Purchase the Drinks Recipe Book from the General Store for 80g. The Blender appliance itself must be purchased separately from the Carpenter NPC for 300g and placed in your Kitchen. You need Home Level 1 before you can install a Kitchen.
Which berries work best in the Berry Smoothie?
The recipe uses "Mixed Berries" as a single ingredient type — you cannot substitute individual berry varieties like Strawberries or Blueberries. Mixed Berries are gathered from Berry Bushes in Summer fields or purchased from the Produce Merchant. Same-day freshness adds +1 quality to the final smoothie, so gather and blend the same morning for the best star results.
Can I use any type of milk for Berry Smoothie?
The recipe accepts standard Milk only — not Goat Milk or the rarer Golden Milk. Standard Milk comes from your Cow or the Dairy NPC. Goat Milk and Golden Milk are used in other recipes (Cheese and Golden Pudding respectively). If you use a wrong milk type the ingredient slot simply will not accept it, so there is no risk of accidental substitution.
Can I stack the Berry Smoothie stamina buff with other food buffs?
Yes. Berry Smoothie's +30 Stamina buff stacks with HP-recovery foods like Grilled Fish (+50 HP) and energy foods like Spring Salad (+20 Stamina). However, you cannot stack two stamina buffs of the same type simultaneously — drinking a second Berry Smoothie resets the timer rather than adding more Stamina. Plan your buff rotation with one Smoothie and complement it with other food types.
How does Berry Smoothie compare to Starlight Punch in the Summer Festival?
Berry Smoothie is easier to produce (3 common ingredients, 5-minute blend) while Starlight Punch requires 2 rare event-only ingredients and a 15-minute blend. For the Festival Drink Stall competition, Starlight Punch scores higher at Star 4–5 (first place) while Berry Smoothie typically places second. If you lack the Starlight ingredients, Berry Smoothie is the reliable competitive alternative that still wins the 300g prize in some years.
How do I consistently get high star quality Berry Smoothies?
Four factors drive quality: (1) Berry freshness — gather and blend same day for +1 bonus. (2) Cooking Level — Drinks specialty unlocks at Cooking Level 3 and adds a baseline quality boost. (3) Blender quality — upgrade to the Deluxe Blender (Workshop Level 3 recipe) for a permanent +1 to all drink recipes. (4) Buff foods — the "Fresh Start" breakfast buff (+5% all cooking quality) applies to blending as well. Combine all four for consistent Star 4–5 results.
