How to Brew Starlight Punch

1

Gather Your Ingredients

You need 1x Moonberry Juice, 1x Sparkling Water, and 1x Stardust Crystal. Moonberry Juice is pressed from 3x Moonberries at the Juice Press (crafting station, unlocks at Foraging Level 2). Moonberries grow wild in the Forest Clearing and respawn every 3 in-game days. Sparkling Water is sold by the Innkeeper for 20g year-round. Stardust Crystal is mined in the Crystal Caves (Mine Level 3+), dropping at roughly 30% chance per rock.

Tip: Moonberries have a short forage window — they only ripen at night (6 PM–6 AM in-game). Bring a Lantern and visit the Forest Clearing after dusk for the best yields.
2

Open the Brewing Station

Starlight Punch is brewed at the Brewing Station, not cooked at the Cooking Station. The Brewing Station unlocks at Home Level 3 (place it in your kitchen or workroom). Community Brewery in the town center is also available, located next to the Innkeeper's building. Interact with the Brewing Station and select "Beverages" → "Special Drinks" to find the recipe.

Tip: The Community Brewery gives a +1 quality bonus on the night of the in-game New Moon (every 8 in-game days). Track the moon phase on the calendar in your Home.
3

Add Ingredients to the Brew

Select Moonberry Juice first, then Sparkling Water, then the Stardust Crystal. The Brewing Station plays a shimmer animation when all three are placed correctly. Stardust Crystal is consumed in the process — it dissolves into the liquid and cannot be retrieved. The brew display shows a star rating preview based on your Brewing Skill level.

Tip: Brewing Skill (separate from Cooking Skill) determines base quality for all brewed beverages. Investing 2 Skill Points in "Beverage Mastery" at the Skills Board gives +1 base star to all drinks.
4

Brew for 25 Minutes

Starlight Punch brews for 25 real-time minutes. The Brewing Station glows with a shifting blue-purple starfield animation during the process. You can leave and continue other activities — a starfall sound effect plays when the brew is complete. Unlike oven recipes, you cannot speed up brewing with consumables.

Tip: Start a batch before visiting the Night Market or doing a late-night fishing session. The 25-minute brew time pairs well with activities that take 20–30 minutes in-game.
5

Collect Your Starlight Punch

Collect the finished Starlight Punch from the Brewing Station output slot. The item glows with a star particle effect in your inventory. Star quality (1–5) is determined by Brewing Skill, ingredient freshness, and any active Brew Boost buffs. The Punch has a 3 in-game day shelf life before quality degrades — use it promptly for gifting or events.

Tip: During the Starlight Carnival event, Starlight Punch shelf life is extended to 7 in-game days. Stock up brews before the carnival opens to have a full supply ready.

Ingredients & Where to Find Them

Moonberry Juice

1x
Source: Juice Press: 3x Moonberries → 1x Juice (Foraging Level 2)

Moonberries forage in the Forest Clearing at night (6 PM–6 AM). Bring a Lantern. Each plant yields 2–4 berries per visit and respawns every 3 in-game days.

Sparkling Water

1x
Source: Innkeeper (20g each, year-round) or the Spring Fountain in town (free, 1x per in-game day)

The Spring Fountain method is free but limited to one per day. Stock up by buying extras from the Innkeeper when you need to batch brew.

Stardust Crystal

1x
Source: Crystal Caves (Mine Level 3+, ~30% drop from crystal rocks)

Stardust Crystals also rarely drop from Geodes obtained by fishing. Each Stardust Crystal is consumed during brewing — stockpile before the Starlight Carnival.

Best Uses for Starlight Punch

Starlight Carnival Event Gifting

Starlight Punch is the signature gift of the Starlight Carnival event, held in late Autumn. Gifting Star 4–5 quality to any NPC during the Carnival gives +45 affection — the highest single-item affection bonus in the game outside of Birthday gifts. NPCs Luna, the Astronomer, and the Night Market Trader give triple affection (+135) for Starlight Punch during the event.

Night Market Token Exchange

During the Starlight Carnival, 2x Starlight Punch (any star quality) can be exchanged for 1 Carnival Token at the Token Booth. Carnival Tokens buy exclusive cosmetics, furniture, and the Starlight Telescope decoration. Token value does not scale with star quality for this exchange — brew in bulk over quality.

Personal Buff Consumption

Drinking Starlight Punch (consuming it yourself) gives the "Stardust Vision" buff: +15% Foraging Yield and +10% Mining Luck for 2 in-game hours. The buff stacks with food buffs but not with other beverage buffs. Star 3+ quality extends the buff duration from 2 to 3 hours.

High-Value Selling

At Star 3 quality (336g), Starlight Punch is one of the top-selling beverages. Ingredient cost is roughly 110g (Juice ~75g ingredient equivalent, Sparkling Water 20g, Crystal variable), giving approximately 226g profit at Star 3. The Stardust Crystal cost is offset by the high sell price — especially at Star 4–5.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I unlock the Starlight Punch recipe in Heartopia?
Starlight Punch unlocks in two ways: (1) Attend the Starlight Carnival event — the recipe scroll is delivered to your mailbox the day before the carnival begins. (2) Purchase the recipe scroll from the Night Market Vendor for 200g during any night market session (the Night Market opens randomly 2–3 times per season at the town plaza after 8 PM). You also need Foraging Level 2 to operate the Juice Press and Brewing Level 1 to use the Brewing Station.
Where do I find Moonberries for Moonberry Juice?
Moonberries grow wild in the Forest Clearing area, accessed via the east gate of town. They only ripen and become harvestable at night — from 6 PM to 6 AM in-game time. Bring a Lantern item (crafted from Wood + Firefly Dust, or bought from the General Store for 50g) to navigate the forest after dark. Each plant yields 2–4 Moonberries per visit and resets every 3 in-game days. At Foraging Level 3, you can also grow Moonberry Bushes on your farm.
What does the Stardust Vision buff from Starlight Punch do?
Consuming a Starlight Punch (eating it rather than gifting it) applies the Stardust Vision buff. At Star 1–2 quality: +15% Foraging Yield and +10% Mining Luck for 2 in-game hours. At Star 3+ quality: the duration extends to 3 in-game hours. The Mining Luck bonus increases the chance of rare crystal drops and gem veins in the Crystal Caves. The Foraging Yield bonus adds extra items to each forage action. This makes Starlight Punch useful for Mining runs when you need more Stardust Crystals.
Can I brew Starlight Punch outside of the Starlight Carnival?
Yes. The recipe works year-round once unlocked. Moonberries are available in the Forest Clearing throughout the year (night-only), Sparkling Water is sold year-round, and Stardust Crystals drop in the Crystal Caves regardless of season. The main limitation is Stardust Crystal availability — they have a ~30% drop rate, so maintain a stockpile. Outside the Carnival, Starlight Punch still sells well (240–432g) and gives the Stardust Vision buff when consumed.
How do I get Stardust Crystals efficiently?
Three methods: (1) Mine crystal rocks in the Crystal Caves (Mine Level 3+) — ~30% drop rate per rock. Spend a full mining session before crafting Starlight Punch. (2) Break open Geodes found while fishing — Geodes occasionally contain Stardust Crystals at ~15% chance. (3) Purchase from the Traveling Merchant who visits every 7–10 in-game days, selling Stardust Crystals for 85g each. The Mining method is most efficient; the Merchant is convenient if you're in a hurry.
How many Carnival Tokens can I get from Starlight Punch?
During the Starlight Carnival, the Token Exchange accepts up to 20x Starlight Punch batches (40 Punches total) per event for 20 Carnival Tokens. Tokens reset at the next Carnival. Most exclusive Carnival shop items cost 5–15 tokens each, so 20 tokens covers 1–4 items depending on what you prioritize. Brew roughly 40 Starlight Punches before the Carnival opens to max out your Token exchange — quality doesn't matter for tokens, so Star 1 brews are fine for this purpose.
